Hon. Barr. Oba Magaji AbdulKadir, the House Leader of the 10th Kwara State House of Assembly and member representing Ilorin Central Constituency, has reflected on his three years in office, highlighting a series of legislative contributions and constituency projects aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
In a statement made available to The QuickPR, the lawmaker said the past three years have been defined by service, responsibility, and people-centred representation. He noted that effective leadership should extend beyond legislative duties to include programmes and interventions that directly impact the lives of citizens.
According to AbdulKadir, popularly known as BOMA, his representation has focused on healthcare, education, social welfare, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, skills acquisition, and economic growth across Ilorin Central Constituency.
The lawmaker stated that, as House Leader, he has actively contributed to legislative debates, motions, and activities aimed at strengthening governance and supporting development in Kwara State.
AbdulKadir explained that one of his major healthcare initiatives is the Barr. Oba Magaji AbdulKadir Medical Outreach Programme, through which weekly medical outreaches have been conducted in various communities to improve access to basic healthcare services.
He added that his Cash Support Scheme for Widows and Aged People has continued to provide financial assistance to vulnerable residents, while the Special Friday Social Welfare Scheme offers support to individuals facing urgent challenges.
Speaking on education, the lawmaker said hundreds of students have benefited from his Educational Support Scheme through the payment of school fees, sponsorship of WAEC, NECO and JAMB registrations, as well as the distribution of educational materials.
AbdulKadir also noted that he facilitated the establishment and construction of Magaji Ngari LGEA Primary School, including classroom blocks designed to provide a more conducive learning environment for pupils.
On infrastructure, he said solar-powered street lights have been installed across communities within the constituency to improve security and support economic activities. He added that motorised boreholes were provided across the five wards of the constituency, while several faulty boreholes were repaired to improve access to clean water.
The House Leader further disclosed that employment opportunities have been facilitated for constituents at the local, state and federal levels, while more than 30 legislative and constituency aides currently receive monthly remuneration through his office.
Highlighting his empowerment efforts, AbdulKadir said the BOMA Mega Empowerment Programme has benefited over 3,000 constituents through four editions. He noted that the latest edition, held on June 13, 2026, provided tools and cash grants to 600 beneficiaries to support businesses, vocational trades and entrepreneurship.
The lawmaker also reaffirmed his commitment to accessibility, stating that he meets with constituents every Friday at his constituency office to listen to their concerns and work towards practical solutions.
AbdulKadir expressed appreciation to the people of Ilorin Central Constituency for their support, trust and prayers over the past three years.
“As we mark the third anniversary of the 10th Kwara State House of Assembly, this milestone serves as a renewed call to greater service, deeper engagement and more developmental interventions for the benefit of our people,” the lawmaker said.
