Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya, Member representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has distributed tricycles to selected beneficiaries and presented a tractor to Asa Local Government in a continued effort to boost economic empowerment and agricultural productivity across the constituency.
A statement made available to TheQuickPR detailed the initiative, which forms part of Shagaya’s ongoing commitment to job creation, sustainable livelihoods, and meaningful development for constituents.
The lawmaker emphasized that the tricycle distribution represents more than transportation provision. Each tricycle serves as a tool for economic empowerment, offering beneficiaries pathways to financial independence and improved living standards.
“Beyond transportation, these tricycles are tools of empowerment. They provide opportunities for economic advancement, self-reliance, and improved living standards for beneficiaries and their families. Our goal is to create pathways for sustainable livelihoods and ensure that more people have access to opportunities that can transform their lives,” Shagaya said.
Complementing the tricycle initiative, a tractor was presented to Asa Local Government to support farmers and enhance agricultural productivity. The intervention recognizes agriculture’s critical role in food security, job creation, and economic development.
Shagaya explained that the tractor is expected to improve access to mechanized farming, ease farming operations, reduce production costs, and increase agricultural output for farmers across the local government area.
He equally noted that the interventions align with the development agenda of Kwara State Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, whose administration continues implementing people-centered policies that transform lives and communities across the state.
The Representative further expressed appreciation to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and the House leadership for their continued support of constituent-focused initiatives.
Addressing beneficiaries, Shagaya urged them to regard the resources as viable business assets capable of delivering long-term financial stability and growth. He encouraged diligence, responsibility, and commitment to maximizing opportunities created through the programme.
“As your representative, I remain committed to initiatives that empower our people, support farmers, strengthen livelihoods, and promote sustainable development across Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency. With your continued support, we will keep creating opportunities, uplifting communities, and delivering meaningful dividends of democracy to our people,” the Representative stated.
Beneficiaries expressed visible gratitude and relief upon receiving the tricycles. Many described the intervention as life-changing, pledging to make productive use of the assets and maximize benefits from the empowerment programme.
