Women and youth groups in Gombe on Monday staged a massive solidarity rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Said Ahmed Alkali’s gubernatorial bid ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress primaries.
The rally, which drew participants from different parts of the state, was described by organisers as a demonstration of grassroots support for the Renewed Hope agenda of the Tinubu administration and the political ambition of the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Senator Alkali.
According to a press release made available to The QuickPR, the rally commenced at Hajiya Amina Muhammad Hall in the GRA area of Gombe and moved through Jekadafari, Federal Low-Cost, Tashar Dukku, Emir’s Palace, Old Market and Bolari before ending in Pantami Ward.
Prominent speakers at the event, including Usman Saleh Ahmad, popularly known as Sarkin Adon Pantami, Maryam Hassan and Mudassir Haruna Bilya, praised the leadership qualities of Senator Alkali and his contributions to the development of Gombe State.
Addressing supporters during the rally, the speakers reaffirmed their loyalty to President Tinubu’s administration and pledged support for Senator Alkali in the APC primaries.
“The turnout today is not just a walk; it is a clear message that the youth and women of Gombe stand firmly with Senator Alkali and President Tinubu. We are committed to ensuring their success in the upcoming primaries to continue the work of progress,” the speakers stated.
The organisers noted that Senator Alkali’s accessibility, leadership style and record of public service informed the growing support he continues to enjoy among party supporters and residents of the state.
The rally ended peacefully with participants chanting support slogans and expressing optimism about the future of the APC in Gombe State.
