The proprietor of Ar-Raheem International School, Barrister Ibrahim Atanda, has committed ₦2 million to support the youth empowerment initiative of the Gaa Aremu Youth Movement, GAYM.
The pledge was made when leadership of GAYM paid a courtesy visit to the legal practitioner at his office in Ilorin, as part of efforts to foster partnerships for youth development, employment and empowerment in the Gaa Aremu community.
Led by the Chairman, Mr. AbdulAkeem Mogaji, the delegation also had in attendance the Vice Chairman, Mr. AbdulQodir Sakofi; PRO, Mr. Shaeed Osioyemi; Secretary, Mr. Funsho; and other members including Lawyer Ismail Momolosho, Mr. Salam Oniyere, Mr. Wasiu Ile-Kewu and Mr. Tunde Olosan.
During the meeting, Barr. Atanda charged the youths to remain focused, hardworking and open to diverse opportunities.
“Don’t tie your future to one direction alone. Keep your eyes open to opportunities around you. Continue to learn and improve yourself. Success comes to those who are willing to work for it, not those waiting for free money,” he said.
The Ar-Raheem proprietor, who shared his personal journey to success, announced the ₦2 million support for GAYM’s proposed empowerment programme aimed at creating jobs and skills opportunities for young people in the area.
In his response, Mogaji expressed appreciation to Barr. Atanda for the reception, guidance and financial support.
“We appreciate the opportunity to learn from your experience and thank you for believing in what we’re doing as an association. Your support is a huge encouragement to us, and we remain committed to ensuring that this initiative creates meaningful opportunities for young people in our community,” he said.
The visit ended with prayers for Barr. Atanda and a renewed commitment by both parties to drive initiatives that will impact the lives of youths in Gaa Aremu.
