The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, on Tuesday formally commenced President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid by collecting the All Progressives Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on his behalf in Abuja.
The APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, declared the process open and personally presented the forms to Faleke, who also founded the Tinubu Support Groups.
Faleke paid N100 million for the forms, a transaction that officially signals the President’s intention to return to Aso Rock in 2027.
Recall the Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed the Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027, with governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections following on Saturday, February 6, 2027.
INEC also announced that party primaries, including the resolution of related disputes, will run from April 23 to May 30, 2026, while campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections will begin on August 19, 2026.
Campaigns for governorship and state assembly elections will commence on September 9, 2026.
