INEC Debunks Fake APC Lagos Reps Candidates List for 2027
The Independent National Electoral Commission has dismissed a document circulating on social media that purports to list All Progressives Congress candidates for Federal House of Representatives seats in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 general election.
INEC described the document as fake and misleading in a statement released on its official Facebook page on Monday.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the Commission has not authorised or published any such notice. The purported publication does not originate from any official INEC platform or process,” INEC stated.
The electoral body also faulted the signature on the document, saying it does not belong to the Secretary to the Commission and was therefore fraudulent.
INEC urged members of the public, political parties, stakeholders and the media to disregard the document in its entirety. It advised them to depend only on information published through its official communication channels.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to providing timely, accurate and credible information on all electoral activities as the 2027 election cycle approaches.
