MAY DAY: CBM DG Honours Workers, Calls for Job Creation, Youth Empowerment

 

 

The City Boy Movement (CBM) has celebrated Nigerian workers on the occasion of Workers’ Day 2026, honouring their contributions to national development and economic growth.

According to a press release made available to thequickpr.com, the Movement Director General, Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, heartily congratulated all workers across the civil service, private sector, artisanal trades, entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, security, farming, transportation, and technology sectors.

Shoga emphasized that Nigerian workers remain the true strength and productive engine of the nation.

“From the civil service to the private sector, from artisans to entrepreneurs, from teachers to health workers, from security personnel to farmers, from transporters to technology innovators, Nigerian workers remain the true strength and productive engine of our dear country,” he stated.

He highlighted that May Day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the immense contributions of workers to national development, economic growth, institutional stability, and social advancement.

The City Boy Movement emphasized the importance of reaffirming the dignity of labour and the critical need for fairness, productivity, rewards for hard work, and respect for worker welfare.

“May Day is a fitting opportunity to acknowledge the immense contributions of workers to national development, economic growth, institutional stability and social advancement,” Shoga noted.

He stressed that the prosperity of any nation is directly linked to the wellbeing, motivation, and empowerment of its workforce.

The Movement Director General l called for sustained efforts toward job creation, skills development, youth empowerment, improved welfare, safer workplaces, industrial harmony, and policies that expand opportunities for hardworking Nigerians.

The City Boy Movement, which is youth-driven, particularly celebrated young Nigerian workers whose energy, enterprise, and determination shape the nation’s future across diverse sectors.

“As a youth-driven movement committed to national progress, innovation and inclusive development, we particularly celebrate young Nigerian workers whose energy, enterprise and determination continue to shape the future of our nation in diverse sectors,” the statement read.

The movement also commended employers, public institutions, organised labour unions, and all stakeholders collaborating to build a more productive, just, and prosperous Nigeria.

“The City Boy Movement remains steadfast in its support for progressive leadership, economic renewal, youth inclusion, enterprise development, and national unity under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. We are confident that through shared sacrifice, reform, resilience and collective patriotism, Nigeria shall emerge stronger and greater,” Shoga stated.

The movement urged all Nigerians to continue believing in the nation, supporting lawful enterprise, embracing hard work, and contributing positively to building a better future for all.
