Seyi Tinubu Never Made Blasphemous Remarks, CityBoy Movement Insiste

The CityBoy Movement has dismissed as false and malicious a viral social media post alleging that Barrister Seyi Tinubu made blasphemous remarks concerning Almighty God and the 2027 presidential election.

In a press statement obtained by The QuickPR, the group described the publication, allegedly authored by one “Albaabu Abudulahi,” as “deliberately inflammatory” and intended to provoke religious tension across the country.

According to the statement signed by O’tega Ogra, Deputy Director General for Communication and Public Affairs of the CityBoy Movement, the remarks being circulated online were never made by Seyi Tinubu under any circumstance.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Barr. Seyi Tinubu did not make the statement credited to him. He has never made such a statement at any time, in any place, through any channel, or under any circumstance whatsoever,” the statement read.

The group maintained that the attribution was “entirely false,” adding that it was designed to damage the reputation of Seyi Tinubu and misrepresent his personal values and beliefs.

Defending the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the CityBoy Movement described him as “a man of faith” who believes strongly that all authority and power come solely from God.

The statement stressed that Seyi Tinubu has never insulted or questioned the supremacy of God or Allah and would never engage in such conduct.

While reaffirming his support for the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027, the group noted that Seyi Tinubu recognises that political ambitions and human endeavours can only succeed through the will and guidance of God.

The CityBoy Movement urged Nigerians, regardless of political or religious affiliations, to disregard the alleged statement and avoid spreading content capable of fueling division or religious hostility.

The organisation also called on media organisations, digital publishers and social media users to verify information before sharing it publicly.

“At a time when our country requires maturity, restraint and responsibility, public discourse must never be poisoned with manufactured religious provocation,” the statement added.

The group reiterated Seyi Tinubu’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, national unity and responsible public engagement.
