Suleiman Jamiu Seeks Reconciliation with Gov AbdulRazaq, Pushes for Assembly Ticket

An aspirant for the Ilorin North-West Constituency, Hon. Suleiman Jamiu Olayinka, has extended a peace hand to Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, apologizing for his past remarks and actions against the administration over the last three years.

In an open letter dated May 21, 2026, and made available to TheQuickPR, Jamiu expressed regret over his previous criticisms of the Governor, explaining that his reactions stemmed from misunderstandings that followed the 2022 primary elections.

The sociopolitical commentator and advocate for good governance said his earlier stance was largely influenced by the treatment and experiences surrounding the primaries, stressing that his criticisms were never driven by hatred or personal resentment.

“My actions were never borne out of personal hatred or malice against you. Rather, my criticisms were intended as observations from someone who genuinely desired the progress of our dear state,” he stated.

Jamiu praised Governor AbdulRazaq for his commitment to governance and acknowledged the developmental strides recorded by the administration in Kwara State.

He said he has reflected deeply on his past conduct and is ready to embrace unity, loyalty, and collective progress. He also appealed for forgiveness over any statement or action that may have caused misunderstanding or displeasure.

The assembly hopeful further sought the Governor’s support to represent Adewole Ward in the Kwara State House of Assembly, noting that the ward has never produced a representative in the state legislature.

“Our ward has never had the opportunity to represent our constituency in the State House of Assembly. I believe this is a historic moment to give our people a sense of belonging and inclusion,” he said.

Jamiu added that his political experience and broader understanding of governance have prepared him for effective lawmaking and people-oriented representation.

He maintained that his continued loyalty to the APC despite the outcome of the 2022 primaries reflects his commitment to the party and confidence in the Governor’s leadership.
