Yari to Lead APC 2027 Campaign as Tinubu Charges Team to “Defeat Forces Taking Nigeria Backward”
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as chairman and vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections.
The list was released by the Statehouse on Saturday morning and obtained by TheQuickPR.
Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, will serve as Director-General of the council, while Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, will serve as Secretary.
APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, was also named Vice Chairman. APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman will serve as Deputy and Assistant Secretaries.
President Tinubu will work with a body of advisers that includes Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
For zonal coordination, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abass, and Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni were named Deputy Director-Generals for the South and North. They will work with Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole will handle mobilisation as Deputy DG, while the President’s Chief of Staff will oversee administration.
James Faleke returns as Deputy DG for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring, a role he played in the 2022/2023 campaign. He will be supported by six zonal directors covering all geo-political zones.
The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris Malagi, will coordinate Media and Strategic Communication, working with Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu. Dele Alake will also lead a team of five spokespersons.
President Tinubu charged all members to work for victory in the January 2027 elections and to reach out to other party members not on the list.
“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress. We are definitely out of the dark tunnel. Let us confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation,” the President said in the statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
The appointments signal the early take-off of APC’s campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
