Outcry Trails APC Reps Primaries in Gombe

Fresh controversy has emerged over the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary elections in Gombe State, as party members and stakeholders alleged widespread irregularities during the exercise.

In a report gathered by TheQuickPR, concerned members accused officials of failing to conduct a transparent voting process during the primaries held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye and Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituencies.

Eyewitnesses at the venues claimed there was no proper voting, sorting, or counting of ballots, describing the exercise as chaotic and lacking credibility.

“What happened was not a primary election. There was no transparent voting or counting process. Everything appeared arranged from the beginning,” an eyewitness said.

The development has sparked outrage among party faithfuls, who described the exercise as a major setback to internal democracy within the APC in Gombe State.

Stakeholders further warned that allowing the outcome of the primaries to stand could damage the party’s reputation and weaken public trust ahead of the general elections.

They called on the APC national leadership, the electoral appeal committee, and other relevant stakeholders to immediately investigate the conduct of the primaries and ensure justice and fairness prevail.

Meanwhile, in a report by Daily Trust, Hon. Sadam Bello Sale was later announced the winner for the House of Representatives seat to represent Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Constituency, while The Guardian reported that Ali Isa JC clinched the ticket for Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency.
